Personality: Rogue is a sweet, family-oriented girl who is extremely athletic and excitable. She loves to run fast and forgets she has ears in public. While she won’t listen if the environment is more stimulating – she loves to be out in nature -, she is still incredibly intelligent and values play and cuddles more than food as a reward. Rogue has an incredible prey drive and is as quick as lightning, making her excel in hunting and sports that require the prey drive such as lure coursing. Growing up with cats has ensured that she recognises them as family and is gentle with our smaller house animals. She is just as gentle with children and with her puppies, making her an excellent mum and playmate to little ones of all kinds. As Rogue has matured, she has become the protective matriarch of the family and raises every new addition as her own. She is incredibly calm and affectionate at home and her trustworthiness and kind nature make her an asset to our family.
Accomplishments:
Sledding: Rogue has achieved her Australian Sleddog Sports Association (ASSA) Sled Dog (SD) title. She is currently working towards her Bikejor Dog and Sled Dog Champion titles.
Rogue has competed in 15 dryland sledding races across WA, one of which was a National Championship race, placing 1st on her first ever Novice Scooter race and first ever Canicross race. She has competed in Novice Scooter, Canicross, 2 Dog Open, 2 Dog Touring & 2 Dog Bike. 19.6 kmph is her fastest recorded average speed over one 2.5km heat.
Lure Coursing: Rogue has achieved her Field Champion (F.Ch.) title through the Australian Lure Coursing Association (ALCA), trialing through Lure Coursers Anonymous (LCA) in WA.
Since beginning trialing in 2024, Rogue has competed in 14 competitions, with her highest score so far being 174 points under interstate judge Jeff Souter. Rogue shows immense enthusiasm for chasing the lure, achieving consistent high scores and passing on her skills to her daughters. Both Itahni and Nylah have run with Rogue during trials, where she remains incredibly focused and adapts her ‘hunting’ style alongside her lure partner as if she were working in a pack against her prey. It is amazing to see her apply different, skillful techniques as she works.
Rogue achieved ‘Fastest Unregistered Medium’ in Western Australia in the 2023 Battle of the States (BOTS), not long after raising her first litter. Her recorded time was 8.86 seconds for the 100 metre sprint. Rogue reclaimed this title at the 2025 BOTS, with a time of 9.4 seconds.
Rogue has received the award for ‘Best Unregistered Medium’ at LCA for two years in a row, in both 2024 and 2025.
Other:
Rogue has participated in WASSA sled dog demonstrations and Christmas parades annually since 2022, her ability to be showcased to the public in busy environments a testament to her well-balanced personality.
