Personality: Nylah is a sweet, adventurous girl who has the same love of running and chasing as her mum. Nylah has bonded strongly to her packmates, especially Rogue, and loves to play and snuggle. Whilst all our dogs follow us from room to room to be in our company, Nylah is by far the clingiest and demands to be in your lap for the ultimate cuddles. She has even figured out how to escape the stake out line (the line they are clipped to during sledding camps) to come and be with us by the fire. Nylah loves to run, swim and wrestle with her dog friends. She has enjoyed SUP boarding/kayaking during summer and enjoys hiking year-round. Nylah does have one of the highest prey drives in our pack and will chase kill rodents and insects in the yard with ease. Nylah can be submissive and lack confidence occasionally. She can also be a blue-eyed bundle of energy and very cheeky, though she has thankfully grown out of her destructive period now she is mature. She is definitely an Itahni Kennels favourite!

Accomplishments:

Sledding: Nylah is currently working towards achieving her Australian Sleddog Sports Association (ASSA) Sled Dog (SD) title.

Nylah has competed in 6 dryland sledding races across WA, one of which was a National Championship race. She has competed in 1 Dog Open, 1 Dog Bike, 2 Dog Open & 1 Dog Touring.  17.25 kmph is her fastest recorded average speed over one 2km heat in which she placed 1st.

Lure Coursing: Nylah is currently in the Open level of her title progression through the Australian Lure Coursing Association (ALCA), trialing through Lure Coursers Anonymous (LCA) in WA.

Since beginning trialing in 2024, Nylah has competed in 10 competitions, with her highest score so far being 172 points. Towards the end of the 2025 season, Nylah enjoyed trialing alongside her mum in double runs for an extra boost of confidence.

Nylah participated in the 2024 Battle of the States (BOTS) 100 metre sprint competition, with a time of 9.47 seconds. She unofficially participated in the 2025 BOTS, with a time of 9.43 seconds.

Other:

• Nylah has participated in WASSA sled dog demonstrations and Christmas parades annually since 2023, her ability to be showcased to the public in busy environments a testament to her well-balanced personality.

• Nylah completed Running West Sled Dog Clubs ‘Iditarod in a Year Challenge’ and walked 1571 km over 2025.
